  • Job Description

    Job Purpose:
    To lead the legal and compliance oversight of the company to ensure business operations are conducted in accordance with the law, mitigate risks, and promote corporate governance

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Supervise and monitor the preparation of corporate governance documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    - Oversee administrative operations of the Legal & Compliance department to ensure efficient workflow
    - Review and support the preparation of documents for submission to regulatory authorities and internal audits
    - Coordinate with external stakeholders
    - Monitor and report changes in relevant laws and regulations, and propose updates to internal documentation accordingly
    - Oversee the review and approval process for new vendors or contractors from a compliance perspective
    - Participate in planning and organizing training sessions or workshops related to legal compliance and corporate ethics
    - Prepare supporting documents for executive and board meetings, including presentation materials on legal and compliance matters
    - Review and provide recommendations on drafting internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance
    - Review and provide legal advice on draft business contracts such as construction agreements, subcontractor agreements, and procurement contracts to ensure legal compliance and minimize legal risks to the company
    - Supervise the preparation of documents for shareholder meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
    - Manage meeting schedules and coordination among executives, shareholders, and the internal legal team
    - Oversee the handling of legal documents, including notarization, translation, and certification by relevant authorities
    - Perform other duties as assigned by the Legal & Compliance Manager

Qualifications

  • Requirement

    [Must]
    - Bachelor's degree or higher in Law
    - Hold licensed to practice law
    - Good command of English, both written and spoken
    - At least 5-7 years of experience in business law or construction law
    - Knowledge of labor law, tax law, environmental law, and laws related to construction
    - Strong communication, negotiation, and time management skills
    - Able to work under pressure with high attention to detail
    - Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
    - Willingness to learn and adapt to new legal and regulatory requirements
    - Basic understanding of corporate governance, legal terminology, and compliance processes
    - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Canva
    - Able to travel to work in upcountry or project sites as required
