Job Description
• Handles customer enquiries and provides technical advice regarding self-clinching fastener applications.
• Answers enquiries pertaining to declarations on raw materials according to various compliance requirements, e.g., RoHS, REACH, and Conflict Minerals statements.
• Recommends and designs special products and/or recommends fastener solutions that meet customers' requirements.
• Responsible for documenting activities related to product design and any critical contacts or meeting excerpts in a CRM platform.
• Participates in and coordinates customer sample testing with the factory team and provides reports according to customer requirements and expectations.
• Reviews engineering drawings and liaises with customers for clarifications as needed.
• Updates cross-references of customer part numbers or competitor part numbers against the company's on a shared platform.
• Distributes and follows up on New Product Bulletins to customers and distributors for product awareness; reviews technical inaccuracies and suggests improvements to the corporate marketing team.
• Travels to customer premises or participates via online meetings to address technical complaints or application discussions.
• Supports the Sales team and regional Field Applications Engineers on technical matters.
• Provides or supports training of new hires within the company or distribution network.
• Plans mini roadshows at customer premises to display self-clinching fastener products and application solutions to attract customer interest.
• Assists the Sales and Marketing teams in planning and setting up exhibitions in respective regions.
• Attends frequent internal online meetings on subjects such as market segment updates and new product introductions. After-hours participation may be required due to global regional involvement.
Quality (First Responder)
• Coordinates all QA activities (RMA, corrective reports, sorting, expenditures) with customers and factories in assigned territories.
• Liaises with customers on quality issues as the first level of response. Where viable, visits customer sites to help resolve issues.
• Recommends purchases of equipment for the Field Applications department to improve capabilities.
• Participates in ISO 9001:2015 system refreshes and updates relevant written processes and procedures.
• Coordinates and submits IMDS and MSDS documents with customers and manufacturing sites.
• Liaises on and submits product qualification documents requested by customers, e.g., PPAP from manufacturing sites.
• Prepares and compiles Excel data or PowerPoint presentations related to regional quality issues for weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly management review as required.
Qualifications
Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering.
• Preferably at least 2 years’ experience with mechanical fasteners applications use or 5 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication process.
• Experience with Automotive/Datacom Equipment/Consumer Electronics/Telecom Equipment OEMs is an added advantage.English Level
