Job Description
Main Job Functions:
1.) Planning
• Formulate and propose short and middle term plan, and strategic objectives such as effective resource allocation and Market Segment Planning
• Prepares the sales plan based on the Annual Business Plan (ABP), including tailored strategies for each customer or segment and a concept for further market development
• Maintains ongoing coordination with the direct supervisor throughout the planning process
2.) Business Development
• Prospects and develops new accounts within assigned territory to ensure positive and profitable sales growth. This includes cold calls, defines & initiates new projects, monitors and follow up project progress, etc. to ensure high success rate in winning projects
• Conducts market surveys as and when appropriate. Regular feedback on new emerging markets and market trend developments are expected
• Work together with borderless business support personnel to achieve borderless business objective
• Coordinate with internal resources e.g. marketing, technical, product management within each market segment, to provide value added services to the customers
3.) Sales Management
• Manages sales activities through direct customer engagement or via distributors
• Supports the growth of distribution sales and develops new business opportunities in defined markets
• Develops business plans and objectives for key customers, monitors progress and takes corrective action when necessary
• Formulates customer-specific sales strategies in alignment with the team objectives. Oversees pricing structures, service levels, and product assortments
• Coordinates with Customer Excellence team to ensure accurate and timely order processing
• Responsible for collecting outstanding accounts receivable in accordance with company policy and collaborates with Controlling to define payment terms for new accounts
• Delivers product and application presentations as required and works with Regional Marketing to conduct end-user visits for product positioning and application support
• Develops long-term strategies for assigned markets to ensure sustainable growth, with approval from the supervisor
4.) Organization/Personnel Development
• Support manager to steer people development initiatives
• Coach and guide team members to be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledges to carry out sales and market responsibility
• Provide feedback to the team members for continuous development
5.) Reporting
• Maintains records of activities and projects, regularly updating the immediate supervisor using the prescribed format
• Prepares monthly reports and WPL to communicate ongoing activities
• Utilizes the CRM system to manage project information, update project statuses, and log sales activities, including customer appointments and PNS
Qualifications
Requirement
Must:
• Bachelor degree majoring in Sales/Marketing/Business Management or equivalent professional qualification
• At least 7-10 years of relevant working experience in sales or business development of Tape or relevant industries (Direct, Distributor, Converter) for Automotive businesses
• Experience for spec-in product with OEM/OES
• Good contacts with Japanese/Other Automotive OEMs and tiers (e.g. preferably Wire harnessing suppliers)
• Good command in English (Spoken and Written)
Advantage:
• Japanese language is a plus (at least JLPT level N2)English Level
